Running a half marathon for SeeAbility

SeeAbility is an incredible charity creating more life opportunities for people with learning disabilities, autism and sight loss. They achieve this by providing specialist support, accommodation and eye care.

If you're able to, please sponsor me and support SeeAbility with their amazing work.

I am running a half marathon on Tuesday 13th October to help raise money. At the time of writing this (Sunday 13th September) I have only managed to run 3 miles...so let the training commence!

My Updates

I did it!

Tuesday 13th Oct
This bright, cold morning I ran a half marathon for SeeAbility, in sub two-hours! Eeek I'm so so delighted (and so so sore)!
Thank you again for all your generous donations and helping to raise money for this incredible cause.

Training stage: 'Eating'

Friday 9th Oct
Completed the final ‘long’ run of 10 miles this morning, hurray! The remainder four days of training will involve CARBS. Not sure if this is recommended or scientifically proven, but I will seize this (potentially made-up) opportunity. You’ll find me slurping spaghetti until further notice. Thank you again for all your generous donations, I really appreciate it.

Training stage: 'Moving'

Sunday 27th Sep
Eventually, after an entire week of procrastination and snoozed alarm clocks, I ran this morning [insert cheer]. It may have been the excessive consumption of pasta the night before, or the tequila still in my system, but the 8 mile mark was hit.
Highlight of the run: a poodle in a (dog-friendly) backpack.

Training stage: 'Trying'

Tuesday 22nd Sep
Persuaded Fardip to train with me today. We ran 3 miles South of the river, stopped for lunch, and caught a bus back because we were too full to run. Priorities may need working on. Running definitely needs working on. A more successful update to follow (hopefully). Thank you so much for all your donations.
