How do I track my distance?
If you use Strava or Fitbit, you can connect your account to your page during the sign up process, meaning that your miles will be tracked automatically. Most smart phones have a built in tracker so if you are using this, another tracking app, or are simply tracking the distance you’ve covered yourself, you can manually add your miles to your profile page and they will be added to the event total.
Can I take part from home?
Yes - absolutely everything counts. At home workouts, walking around building /garden /balcony and going up and down steps all count towards your total distance covered.
What is the date of Step Up for SeeAbility?
Step Up for SeeAbility will be running from 29 June to the end of British Summer Time, Sunday 25 October. You can choose your distance and when you complete it. You can join us any time over the summer, and so can your family and friends.
How old do I have to be to take part?
We ask that all Step Up for SeeAbility participants who sign up as individuals are aged 16 or over. However, children are welcome to participate alongside adults as part of a team.
What happens when I sign up?
You’ll receive e-newsletters from SeeAbility about the challenge with fundraising tips, updates about how far we’ve covered and join our Facebook group to keep in touch with other people taking on the challenge.
How much does it cost?
There are no registration fees or minimum fundraising targets. However, Step Up for SeeAbility is a fundraising challenge to support people with learning disabilities, autism & sight loss and any sponsorship you are able to raise is greatly appreciated.
